Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Home Energy Efficiency Assessment?

Home Energy Efficiency Assessment is a home self-assessment of your home's energy efficiency. It's an easy-to-use online tool that provides a personalised dashboard on how energy-efficient your home is and offers tailored suggestions for improvements to save energy, reduce costs, and enhance comfort.

What does Home Efficiency Australia do?

Home Efficiency Australia helps homeowners improve their home's energy efficiency. We offer tools like the Home Energy Efficiency Assessment, provide personal recommendations for energy savings, and connect you with exclusive deals for sustainable home improvements. Our goal is to help you reduce energy costs, increase your property value, and lower your carbon footprint.

This platform is powered by ValAi, a technology start-up that provides software solutions and residential climate data.

What do I need to prepare?

To prepare for a Home Energy Efficiency Assessment, you'll need basic information about your home, such as its size, age, building materials and existing energy features. It's also helpful to have recent utility bills on hand for a more accurate assessment. No special equipment is required – just your knowledge of your home and a few minutes of your time.

Information about your house is available in your section 32 when you purchased your home. Most answers will be known by walking through your home. If you don’t know the answer, it is ok to say so. We will simply take the average answer for home similar to yours in your area.

How do I access the offer?

You can access the extra discount by starting and completing a Home Energy Efficiency Assessment from this page. This will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until all grant funds are expended. The $100 AUD discount is available for home upgrades with participating suppliers from 11th December 2023 to 29th February 2024, or until all grant funds are expended, whichever comes first.

Standing offers from State government, City of Adelaide and others will continue to apply under their relevant eligibility rules after this campaign period.

What happens with the data I provide?

Employees of ValAi, and partners may have access to your data – we do not sell or give your personal information to any other person or company. Your personal or property data is protected, stored securely and encrypted.
