Is there a cost to using the Home Efficiency Australia platform?

Home Efficiency Australia Personal is free to use. Home Efficiency Australia Professional users need to purchase a licence.

What is the difference between Personal and Professional?

A Personal account is for everyone or anyone who wants to identify their home’s sustainability rating, reduce energy costs, receive tailored advice and unlock access to benefits.

A Professional account is for businesses and organisations to generate a sustainability score and home footprint results for multiple properties under a paid subscription.

Why should I use this?

You can quickly get a view of your home sustainability rating, the energy efficiency of your home and what you can do to make your home more energy efficient.

By using Home Efficiency Australia and implementing home improvements, you will reduce your impact on the environment and get access to offers and rewards from Home Efficiency Australia partners to improve your home or to finance those improvements.

How do I sign up? What do I need?

You will need to complete your first home assessment. At the end of this you will need to provide your name, email and password. To know it is really you, you will then need to verify your email address.

How do you know what attributes my house has already? Where does this data come from?

Home Efficiency Australia is a product of ValAi Pty Ltd. ValAi use open-sourced data. We use public open source data sets and purchase additional data sets about your home. This is to help pre-fill the data and make the form simpler (and shorter) for you to complete.

Is my personal or property data protected?

Yes. All data is stored securely and encrypted.

Who else can see and use my data? Will they contact me?

Home Efficiency Australia collects your personal data in order to provide tailored results and improve your experience. If you connect with a trusted brand through Home Efficiency Australia we provide information to them to customise their advice to you. All of our channel partners can be viewed in our Privacy Policy.

Where can I get information if I don’t have it handy?

Information about your house is available in your section 32 when you purchased your home. Most answers will be known by walking through your home. If you don’t know the answer, it is ok to say so. We will simply take the average answer for home similar to yours in your area.

How do sustainability practices help me get better offers?

A more energy efficient homes will unlock offers (such as a discounted home loan for a energy efficient house) and insurance deals for you. So whilst you help the planet, you will also help your bank balance.

How can I correct wrong pre-populated information?

You can overwrite the form with your answer.

How can I track my improvements as I make changes?

As you do assessments and home improvements over time, these will be visible and tracked in the system. This functionality will be coming soon.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Home Efficiency Australia has implemented reasonable safeguards to help protect your personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

These safeguards include physical, organisational, and technological measures. The specific safeguards used by us may differ based on our sole judgment as to the sensitivity of the information at issue and the format or location in which it is maintained. We at Home Efficiency Australia are committed to providing the most accurate results when possible. If your results have changed, it means that is has adjusted to reflect the latest updates to our model.
